40 Date Ideas In Ghana

Looking for a date idea for this weekend? Try one of these!

1. Try A New Restaurant Together. Food Dates are the most common dates, so why not add a little twist to it by visiting a place you’ve both never been and reviewing it together.

2. Go to a game night together.

3. Have your own game night at home. Puzzles, board games, the likes. They’re extremely fun.

4. Couple’s Yoga. If you’re both in stressful sectors for example, this is ideal. Relax and destress together.

5. Go Karting. Not tried and tested, but I hear its fun.

6. Go swimming.

7. Try A New Cuisine Together. Introduce your date to your favourite cuisine and walk them through it(for example, show them ideal pairings and how to use certain things)

8. Movie Night With Pizza. Basic and Budget friendly.

9. Explore a city/town together. Have you been to Nzulenzu yet? What about Cape Coast?

10. Indoor Date Night. Cook or order in your favourites. Go the extra mile with a candlelight set up, add a few flowers here and there, warm lights, soft music…whew.

11. Ice Cream Date. Or a coffee date. Less about the food, more about the conversation.

12. Breakfast Date. If you can both wake up on time, its a good way to start your days.

13. Picnics! Personally, beach picnics >>>>. At the most basic all you really need is a blanket, cutlery, a basket and food!

14. See a show together - Poetry and Spoken Word. There’s always one being advertised on your timeline.

15. Live band night. Live music, good food is a very nice vibe. Flipbar in Osu has one every Friday and Saturday.

16. Go to the beach at dawn to watch the sunrise or set up a bonfire at night (with the help go one of the “beach boys”)

17. Go Camping. Yes its a thing. Not for me though. Places like Shai Hills Resource Reserve have tents on their grounds for ¢200.

18. Go on a double date. These are extremely fun! Hanging with other couples is always a super fun time.

19. Take a cooking class. You can also arrange one at home, with an online tutorial.

20. Gallery Viewings.

21. Paint Night, Arts and crafts.

You can go for one OR set one up yourself.

You’ll need brushes, paint, pencils, an easel and canvas. It’s relatively easy to set up, but you can pay for one to be done. Research other art and crafts projects and spend a night being creative.

22. Go to a Karaoke event. It’s more fun if you sing. Its even more fun if you sing together or to each other. No professional voice training required.

23. Plan a Spa Day together. Destress together. Accra is hard.

24. Plan a boat ride. A lot of resorts have the facilities for that.

25. Plan a scavenger hunt at home. This sounds childish but is loadssss of fun.

26. Go for an event together.

27. Go Hiking - Shai Hills, Mountain Afadjato etc - Ghana has a lot of resources for this.

28. Day trips. Get out of town for a few hours. Hillburi, The Palms, Safari Valley etc

29. Learn a new skill together. Use YouTube or teach each other something the other one doesn’t know.

30. Virtual date. These are Risk-Proof and Pandemic-Proof. A stable internet connection is all that’s required. Get food and drinks and spend the night just talking - advantage is there will be relatively fewer distractions than if you were out so you get to really connect.

31. Book date. Swap your favourite books or agree on one prior to your date and discuss them over food and drinks.

Or join a bookclub together and go for a meeting.

32. Horse riding. Polo Court or Burma Camp are fine options.

33. Cook together. Create a new recipe or cook a mutual favourite.

34. Attend a talk or lecture together and discuss it afterwards.

35. Food and drinks, Accra lights, Aburi Road. A beautiful vibe. Park at a safe spot though!

36. Take a dance class together.

37. Check out your local historic sites together. I went to the Kumasi museum on a date and it was 100%.! Visit any of the castles and historical monuments and learn about our history together.

38. Visit the Aburi or Legon Botanical Gardens.

39. Attend a local sports event. Go watch a football match or a basketball tournament.

40. Long car rides with no particular destination, preferably at night, when the roads are free. I absolutely love these, they’re a great way to bond especially if you have a very busy work schedule.
