#MySogakopeExperience

A super-brief review on my much needed get-away at Sogakope Beach Resort🏖🏖🏖. Your girl has been working overtime, so this was perfect timing.

Sogakope Beach Resort is a fairly new resort in ...obviously, Sogakope, which is in the Volta Region.

The resort is about 2 and a half to 3 hours from Accra. The road is decent for most of the way, but like most out-of-town places in Accra the 15 minute drive from the junction to the resort is pretty bad.

There are welcome coconuts on arrival, and even though I do not like coconut(except various forms coconut rice), it was a necessary photo opportunity.

Check-in was fast! I got an executive suite, which is ¢550 for a single, ¢580 for a double a night during regular times and ¢700-¢900 during peak season/holidays like Christmas, Easter etc. A regular chalet is ¢400 for a single room, ¢430 for a double, and ¢600 during peak season.

The suite is perfect for couples, there’s so much space, and the vibe😍😍😍(But no, I went alone).

My room was very clean and I loved the theme; warm lights and wooden furniture in the suite, and a stone stone theme for the bathroom.

Each executive suite comes with a porch and a jacuzzi facing the river. Using the jacuzzi comes at an extra cost though, ¢100 per session.

My jacuzzi was a little unclean, but apparently that’s due to the whole outdoor thing(sand, falling leaves etc) and it’s cleaned and set up on request. The view is really nice, especially when the sun is setting.

My favorite part - The food!

It was pretty good, especially the seafood. The menu was broad, and the portions were big, but it took quite a while to get ready (about an hour).

Breakfast was on my room, but if your package doesn’t include it, it’s ¢70 a head. They have an African/Ghanaian option and a continental option. Even though it’s a buffet you can request it be brought to your room. Room service(food) has an extra charge of ¢20.

How beautiful is the restaurant building at night 😍😍😍.

There are a lot of mosquitoes if you sit outside, but if you ask they’ll give you a repellent.

There’s a pool, boats, swings, a spa and a gym on site. It’s really hot in Sogakope (or maybe just each time I was there) so the pool and spa are absolute favorites.

That’s about it! Service is a little slow but generally it’s a pretty nice place. Take your sunscreen, repellent and partner(hey boo😘) and you should be good.
