The Palms At Prampram

Another staycation!
(Not so) New spot alert - The Palms at Prampram! Based off the response I got on Twitter about the place it seems it’s a lot more popular than I thought.

The Palms at Prampram is an out-of-town beach resort directly on the coastline in (obviously) Prampram. It has been around for a couple of years - it initially started as a self-catering resort but they upgraded and added a whole host of features including a restaurant.
It’s such a peaceful place - far away from the noise of Accra yet close enough to make a day trip out of it. It’s a 90 minute and ¢60 uber ride from East Legon. Perfect for mini getaways.

There are with 12 rooms in all - 3 villas (Nkyimkyim, Sankofa and Adinkrahene) and 2 independent garden rooms.

General room prices per night are:

  • Garden Standard room - ¢450

  • Garden Executive room (The room I got) - ¢620

  • Adinkrahene - ¢780 per room, ¢1560 for whole place

This building has 2 executive rooms with separate bathrooms and a living room. It can be rented per room or as a whole.

  • Nkyimkyim - ¢2500

This building has 2 double deluxe bedrooms, 1 standard room and 1 basement room all with bathrooms, a kitchen area and a living room.

  • Sankofa - ¢2750

This building has 2 double deluxe bedrooms, 1 standard room and 1 basement room all with bathrooms (different bathrooms for the s and b rooms) and a living room.

If you know me you know the beach is my favorite place to be. I could spend days on end on a (clean, quiet) beach and not get tired.
There’s a beach balcony lounge, which as the name suggests is an outdoor lounge right above the beach. The view and breeze are just so perfect. I didn’t even know I needed a rocking chair facing the sea till I spent an hour rocking in one 😂. It gave me old-retired-rich-grandmother vibes.

Naturally I got there hungry so first things first, I ordered a seafood platter and a glass of wine (it was 5:00pm somewhere) in the lounge. Lunch with a view, how nice is this? Again, I love beaches during the day so things like this make me so happy. The food took about 45 minutes and the seafood was SO good. The prices in general are so decent too ! Unfortunately they were out of most of the ingredients for the cocktails so I didn’t get to try those.

  • Seafood Platter (Calamari, shrimp, fish with side of choice)

    💸¢75

  • Wine

    💸¢25/glass ¢100-¢160/bottle

Breakfast is on the room, but for non-residents it’s ¢40 (Can I just say, the prices at this place have me spun. So affordable!).

They have a spa facing the beach - it’s such a beautiful concept. The masseuse isn’t available all the time though, so you need to book ahead. The massage prices are really reasonable too - ¢350 per couple and ¢185 per person. The masseuse kneeeeaded my body, Good Lord, I was so relaxed after.

There are 2 pools (next to each other) which are free to use for in-house guests but ¢35 for adults visitors and ¢15 for children. There’s also a pool table on the terrace of the Sankofa villa and a mini-golf course which like the pool is free for in-house guest but ¢25 for non-residents. Free in-room WiFi for guests btw!

How beautiful is the place at night🥰😍! Stays here aren’t limited to just getaways - I’ve been to a birthday party here and I saw pictures of a wedding on the premises which was super beautiful.

The staff are pleasant, everyone I dealt with was very polite and friendly; from the security to the managers (especially the waiter kind enough to take my pictures for me 😂). All in all it was a really good experience and I did feel rested enough to deal with Accra again. You can find them on IG (ThePalmsAtPramPram) or call/WhatsApp here.
